In some temperature control applications,
e.g. domestic showers and instant water heaters, a very fast thermal response of say 1 second or less is required.
This is to avoid scalding and helps to minimise energy usage.
We have developed a number of fast-response designs where the NTC is in the very tip of the sensor. This reduces the thermal path to the thermistor and thus minimises the response time.
