PTC thermistors are generally used for over-current and over-temperature protection. For motor protection and general circuit protection, PTCs effectively offer a solid-state thermal switch or current fuse.
PTCs can also be supplied as self-limiting heaters to offer unique solutions for cabinet heaters, mosquito-killers, small appliances and time-delay applications.
Our thermistor sensors come in all shapes and sizes. From simple plastic encapsulated probes for air-sensing applications to sophisticated leaf-spring sensors, offering precision control of surface temperatures upto 250°C. Fast response temperature sensors utilising exposed bead NTCs or thin wall tubes, help control rapidly changing temperatures in air or fluids upto 200°C.
Our thin-film low-profile 2-wire platinum elements are some of the smallest available (just 2 x 2mm) and conform to DIN EN 60751 (IEC 751). These laser-trimmed elements offer Pt100, Pt500 or Pt1000 interchangeability and are glass-sealed to ensure complete integrity.
They are highly stable and suitable for use up to 500°C (Class B) or 300°C (Class A).
PEPI thermostats offer both accurate temperature control and thermal protection from 5°C to 200°C - in one degree steps if required! With calibration tolerances as small as ±3K and temperature differentials of 10K or better, PEPI thermostats offer the best control to cost ratio available anywhere.

The Matsuo MQT and M series bimetal thermostats use a unique internal structure that offers a combination of tolerance, differential and repeatability that is un-paralleled in the industry. The twin bimetal system minimises calibration drift and ensures a long contact life from 100k - 1m cycles depending on the applied load.
This makes them ideal for anti-frost applications in CCTV cameras, TV antennas and wind-generators.
Campini adjustable thermostats are widely used in the heating appliance industry. The large bimetal blade ensures excellent repeatability and minimum differential (hysteresis), thus ensuring accurate temperature control. The TY53 and TY-35P are simple air-sensing thermostats controlling temperatures from 6°C~70°C and TY23 surface-sensing thermostats can control from 0~260°C with switching loads up to 10A/250VAC.
A thermal fuse or thermal cut-off or "tco" is a one-shot, non-resettable, temperature-sensitive device that provides ultimate temperature protection in small appliances and electronic circuits. Thermal fuses are mainly defined by their temperature setting but also by the current rating, which is the maximum continuous current that can be applied. SEFUSE SF thermal fuses are readily available from stock. Bimetal one-shot fuses also now available.
Semifuse is a current-sensitive PTC fuse based on conductive polymer technology. Up to its "hold" current rating, the PTC will pass current with no effect on the rest of the circuit. Should an over-current condition occur, the PTC's resistance will exponentially increase, thus limiting the through current to safe levels.
Strap, radial and SMD formats offer current values from 0.1A to 15A with voltages upto 240V now available.
PTC fuses and PTC SMD thermistors offer resettable over-current protection. CRD current regulating or CLD current-limiting diodes offer constant current levels with fluctuating voltages. ICLs and SCKs offer inrush-current protection for power-supplies and low-impedance circuits.
