Information
The Semifuse is a resettable current fuse based on conductive polymer technology. Up to its rated "hold" current value, it will pass that current continuously with no other effect on the circuit its protecting. Should a high current or high voltage occur, the Semifuse will dramatically increase its resistance (the "PTC" effect) thus limiting the through current to safe levels. The Semifuse will remain in this "off" state until the applied voltage is removed and a suitable cooling down period has passed. The Semifuse then resets to its pre-fault level ready to protect again.
Semifuse re-settable fuses are available in a wide range of current values, voltages and formats. So whether you need a low-profile "strap" solution, through-hole p.c.b. mounting or an SMD design, Semifuse can supply them all.
Our basic SFP strap series offers continuous protection from 1.2A to 4.2A with voltages up to 24V. For higher current values our SFLR series can be used upto 10A/20V and also benefits from lower cold resistance values. For a more compact protector, our SFVT series offer higher current values (1.7A-2.4A) in a slimmer design. These are suitable for Li-Ion batteries and other space-critical applications.

The Semifuse SFR series offer a range of voltages from 16V to 60V in 3 series;
1) The SFR16P offers a compact disc with values up to 14A continuous.
2) The SFR30P provides general circuit protection up to 9A continuous.
3) The SFR60P provides general protection up to 3.75A continuous.
There is also a 60V rated SFR250 series (250V switching) version suitable for telecoms applications where mains and lightning surges have to be protected.
